RE-ENTRY PROGRAM
WHAT IS WESTERN SLOPE WAGEES?
Western Slope Work and Gain Education & Employment Skills program (WSW) is a thriving community-based program that helps citizens successfully return to the community from the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC). Participants must currently be under the Colorado Division of Adult Parole supervision or within one year of their statutory discharge date to be eligible. WSW works in partnership with CDOC to help coordinate services and provide opportunities for its participants to overcome the challenges associated with returning home after serving their time in prison. So whether you are already out on parole or getting ready to come back home, WSW can help you!
WSW provides this help by matching participants with Care Managers who have dealt with adversities in their lives. Many WSW Care Managers have been in prison themselves and understand the challenges of rebuilding their lives and overcoming addictions and old habits.
WSW offers services in the following areas:
-
Document Acquisition (Driver's License, I.D., Birth Certificate, S.S. Card, etc.).
-
Work Clothing.
-
Work Tools.
-
Transportation Support.
-
Tuition Assistance.
-
Rent Assistance.
-
Stable Housing.
-
Work Readiness Supports (Job Readiness, Employment Support, etc.).
-
Parole Required Therapy & Classes (DBT, CBT, MRT, Smart Recovery & Conflict Resolution).
-
And much more.
Participants in WSW also earn several cash incentives that reward their progress and help them gain stability and independence. Our goal is to help you rebuild your life, restore your family and revitalize the community so that you will never go back to prison.

Although we provide several resources in-house, we are also able to connect you to the various resources available in the community. When you enroll into the Western Slope WAGEES program you will be assigned to a Care Manager who is knowledgable in what is available in the community. This Care Manager will become a mentor and advocate to support you on your journey to success.
